Twenty-three doubles teams and five singles players recently delighted the many spectators at the 14th annual Lopez Open Tennis Tournament.

The Lobos played against Shoreline Christian in the NW1B District playoffs on May 10 and came away with a 7-5 nail-biting victory, moving on to the Bi-District game with a 3-1 overall league record.

Chocolate, salmon, cider... oh my!; SJ County backs Seahawks with Super Bowl wager

In a winner-take-all wager of gut-busting proportions, San Juan County will be backing the Seattle Seahawks with locally produced chocolates, salmon and hard cider. Across the table, Colorado's Eagle County, in backing the Broncos, is laying on the line buffalo jerky, grass-fed beef and beverages from Bonfire Brewing Company, on the outcome of Sunday's Super Bowl.
