Monday is the deadline for Washington residents to register online or via mail in time to vote in the Feb. 14 special election if they haven’t registered or updated their address yet.

Jan. 16 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, meaning there won’t be any mail service on that holiday, so people need to remember to get their mail-in registration postmarked before then. Citizens can register to vote or update their address online at www.myvote.wa.gov. People can register online using the MyVote feature on Jan. 16, even though it’s a holiday.

Feb. 6 is the deadline to register in person at your county elections department in time for the February 14 election.

This deadline is meant for Washington citizens who haven’t registered to vote yet and want to take part in next month’s election.
