Frances May (Wood) Currier born in Deer Park, Wash., Dec. 9, 1920 passed away in Stanwood, Wash. Jan. 5, 2012 at the age of 91.

Frances May (Wood) Currier born in Deer Park, Wash., Dec. 9, 1920 passed away in Stanwood, Wash. Jan. 5, 2012 at the age of 91.  She was preceded in death by her mother Lillie Wood, her father Eugene Wood, her sister Ruth Rhaneck  and her beloved husband, Gerald E. Currier all of whom welcomed her to heaven.  She graduated from Olympia High School in 1938 and then attended Washington State Normal School (later WWU) in Bellingham to become a teacher, highlighting her love of children.  She was a beloved mom, grandma and friend.  She is survived by her three children, daughters Carol A. Currier and Jane E. Searles, and son Daniel E. Currier and their families including five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Services will be held at Center Church on Lopez Island Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of her life at Grace  Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the administrative, nursing and hospice staff at Josephine Sunset Home in Stanwood, Wash. for their unyielding care and support of Frances over the last year, and especially in her last days. You are all doing God’s work. Thank you so much.
