The Lopez Lobos extended their record to 8-0 with a decisive 62-38 home victory over the Evergreen Eagles on Saturday, Oct. 29.  The win was especially sweet as it was the inaugural game with the new scoreboard, allowing the large crowd to watch the points add up.

Evergreen entered the game with a 5-2 record and promised to give the Lobos a tough game.  Those expectations held through the first half, with the teams trading scores and the first quarter ending in a 14-14 tie.  At halftime, Lopez was up by a touchdown, 34-26.  Evergreen scored quickly in the third quarter, pulling to within two points of the Lobos. The threat ended with a key interception by Derekk Buffum. Lopez then pulled steadily ahead while holding Evergreen to only one more touchdown.

The Lobos’ final regular season game will be at Highland Christian on Nov. 4, followed by District Playoffs Nov. 8.
