Printes Holmes

Printes Holmes passed into the arms of his Maker on March 23, 2017 in Palm Springs, CA. He was born in Cascilla, Missouri on November 12, 1939. As a young child the family moved to San Luis Obispo, California where he graduated from San Luis Obispo High School in 1958. After graduating he detailed cars and owned the Gulf gas station. In 1966 he married Gunn Veiby a Norwegian studying at Cal Poly and had a son, Anthony. Their marriage was dissolved in 1970.

Around 1973 he moved to San Francisco and worked for Whitebone Mazda then The Golden Knight a high end men’s clothing store. It was in San Francisco that he met Ron Chadwick. In 1980 Printes and Ron bought the Galley Restaurant on Lopez Island. Although the relationship ended they continued to operate the business until selling in 2001. At which time Printes moved to Seattle to be with his life partner Michael Pray.

He is preceded in death by his mother Catherine, his father, and sister Dorothy. Survived by his life partner Michael Pray of Burien, WA and his son Anthony, grandchildren Olivia, William and Lilly all in Norway. Along with 13 brothers and sisters and 2 aunts.
