About 200 people attended a meeting to learn about the new UW Medicine partnership with Lopez Clinic. After a 30-minute introduction by the Catherine Washburn Medical Association, Dr. Bob Wilson, the Public Hospital District and UW Medicine, the audience was invited to “join the conversation.” For the next hour, islanders made comments and asked questions of UW Medicine representatives Jay Priebe and Debra Gussin on issues ranging from personal insurance coverage to the new plan for physical therapy, death with dignity, the role of the PHD, emergency care, specifics of the new UW Medicine services, staffing and much more.
