HOROSCOPE

And There Goes Mercury…

And There Goes Mercury…

Mercury is now fully retrograde, which is actually better than the days just before the retrograde occurs. Now we get the goofy stuff that happens when we’re not paying attention and the cockups that come along with trying to get anywhere, whether off-island or across the country. But I’ve been coaching you in Mercury retrograde protocol for many years now, so you know what to do.

This week’s treat in the sky will be the Full Moon in the sign of spiritual Pisces, on Tuesday. It’s been quite a time in the Heavens this summer with Northern Lights and the Perseids, and now it appears the sun is trying to wake up and produce some flares so if we get any strong coronal mass ejections (CME’s) that are earth-bound, we may get lucky again. We still have a couple of years until the solar maximum arrives, but recent activity shows that the sun is awakening from an unusually quiet solar minimum.

As we move toward yet another school year and last hurrah of Labor Day weekend, let’s consider that we still have four more months of the year to go and anything is possible. Setbacks and distractions are all over the place, but opportunities are there if we can think outside the box.

I hope the San Juan County Fair was as wonderful as always (I went to the Lynden Fair and it was very nice).

Stay safe, be good to each other and yourselves and we’ll see you again next week!

Aries (March 21- April 19): The Sun is now in Virgo, and Mercury is fully retrograde in the same sign (your sector of work/health). This has been a wild year, no two ways about it! The good thing is, benevolent Jupiter is helping you still, and Uranus has backed into your sector of Endings (it is retrograde too). You should be feeling Jupiter’s expansive vibes more strongly; there is a lot going on in your life in ways more complicated than you like them to be. Life would be so much easier if you were the only one in it, but then who would you boss around?! Tuesday’s Full Moon will be your day to set aside the drama and cut to the chase!

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Tuesday’s Full Moon will inspire you to seek out kindred spirits for a get together and a good chinwag about the state of things; most of what folks will be doing is complaining, no doubt because Mercury is fully retrograde now; for you it’s in your sector of creative expression/children/love affairs. It’s bound to be a whacky time if you’re trying to get things ready for the kids to go back to school or if you yourself are returning; don’t be surprised to see schedules fouled up. That’s what a retrograde Mercury does. Laugh a lot and count on your friends to lift your spirits if you get frustrated this week.

Gemini (May 21- June 20): Tuesday’s Full Moon will be in your sector of Career, and with the type of active social life you have, you will be either hosting something or going to someone else’s house to do something related with your work. If you are buying/selling/renting a house, remember to do your research more thoroughly as Mercury is fully retrograde in your sector of Home. This is the last week of heavy tourist traffic before Labor Day Weekend happens and the “off” switch gets thrown. Use caution during this retrograde so you don’t hurt yourself.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Tuesday’s Full Moon in your sector of Expansion will see you feeling restless and wishing you could go somewhere (taking your home with you, of course). Lucky you, if you have a motor home! With this goofy retrograde Mercury in your sector of short trips/communication, you may feel like you’re from another planet and don’t speak English because nobody understands you this week! Don’t take it personally, just try to have patience and repeat yourself at least once before you start waving your claws in the air.

Leo (July 23 – August 22): The Full Moon in your sector of intimacy/shared assets gives you a sense of appreciation for what you have in your life; part of this is due to Mercury’s retrograde in your sector of money, which almost always brings the annoying broken appliance/car/computer that takes a chunk of change to repair or replace. Still, it is likely you have what you need, and even if it isn’t top of the line, it will work for you. You have been pretty reflective lately and as more time goes on, you’ll get the results you’ve been hoping for. Be patient and lay low for another couple of weeks.

Virgo (August 23 – September 21): Oh, joy! Mercury is retrograde in your sign, but this week the gorgeous Full Moon in your sector of relationships brings out the romantic in you; you may start writing or pick up a project you had to ditch earlier, with better results than you expected. During this week, celebrate yourself well if you have a birthday, look at who loves you and love them all back in some way and plant a grin on your face that won’t go away. With all that’s come down this year, it’s time to think about the quality of what’s left of it. You are part of that quality!

Libra (September 22 – October 23): Tuesday’s Full Moon in your sector of Work/Health gives you an injection of energy that will give you the next piece of the puzzle. The path will be illuminated and you can start marking the goal posts. Don’t forget to pack a lunch for the trip! Yes, Mercury is retrograde in your sector of Endings, so things you thought were finished aren’t. You don’t really have the patience for such things, but do your best to really button it up and make your point clear once and for all. This will be a good two weeks for getting stuff out of the way.

Scorpio (October 24- November 22): This Full Moon lights up your sector of creative expression and gives you a fresh perspective; retrograde Mercury is even inspiring you with the instability it is creating, since you come from a stable base within yourself. One thing you may want to check on is any fanatical tendencies you might have; fanatics will have an especially difficult time because everybody wants attention and the competition is still from non-fanatics. Try hard not to scare the humans, okay?

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): Mercury is fully retrograde in your sector of Career now, hanging around near your MidHeaven point if you were born close to mid-December. The Full Moon on Tuesday shines in your sector of Home, so you may feel really frustrated if you can’t create or find a sanctuary. This will be a good week to hang back and watch; you don’t like conflict, but if you get backed into a corner, your arrows take no prisoners.

Capricorn (December 21 – January 20): Mercury is now fully retrograde in your sector of Expansion, so if all that is expanding is your waistline, feel lucky! This would be a good time to tackle that issue and get good results, believe it or not! The Full Moon on Tuesday illuminates your sector of communication, so that might be a good evening to visit folks over dinner and just hang out and feel good. Lots going on still with the T-Square, but it’s resting a little. Don’t worry, the dark clouds will come back at a later time. For now, enjoy all the moments where things go right!

Aquarius (January 21 – February 20): There is a lot of air in the Heavens now, but what is a major distraction is this retrograde Mercury in your sector of shared assets/intimacy/other people’s money. If you are engaged in borrowing or lending, this could be a messy time since payments are not likely to be made on time. Negotiating will be necessary. The Full Moon on Tuesday lights up your sector of money, so that will be a good time to check the balances and figure out where you can cut back in order to get through the next couple of weeks. It’s okay, really…people like to feed you because you’re such good company!

Pisces (February 21 – March 20): Mercury is now fully retrograde in your sector of relationship, so the way you are interpreted may be skewed and by the same token, your powers of perception may be a bit wonky too. Try not to take things personally unless someone throws something really personal at you…in that case, go ahead and tell them off. The Full Moon in your sign fills you with that sense of mystery and ancient presence, and since you have delightful flights of fancy, do something special to celebrate this annual Full Moon of yours! Things are crazy now, so your eccentricities will be welcome as long as they are friendly!
