Lady Lobos girls basketball new season new leadership

Lopez Lady Lobos basketball takes to the court this winter with five returning players and four new faces. The team is coached by head coach Shane Patrick who is being assisted by Jesse Patrick.

Three seniors, one junior, three sophomores and one freshman make up the girls basketball team this year. At 5-foot-6-inches, senior Siri Dye takes to the court sporting the number 22 as a guard. Joining her is fellow senior Sonnette Robertson, a 5-foot-9-inch tall forward in jersey number 12. Shayna Gruenwald rounds out the seniors of the team as the 5-foot-6-inch forward in number 11.

The sole junior is returning player Madeline Zoerb, a 5-foot-1-inch guard wearing the number 4.

Sophomore Emma Patrick, the 5-foot-6-inch guard in number 14 is a returning player. New sophomores include 5-foot-9-inch tall forward Camille Steckler in the number 5 jersey and 5-foot-8-inch tall forward Sophie Allen, sporting the number 20.

Wrapping up the team is freshman Tara McDonald, a 5-foot-6-inch tall forward in the number 24.

The Lobos traveled to Friday Harbor on Friday, Dec. 6 to take on the Seattle Academy Cardinals in the Friday Harbor Tip-Off Classic. The girls then played Cedar Park Christain at home on Monday, Dec. 9. The team’s next game is away against Shoreline Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13. The next home game is at 3 p.m. against Tulalip Heritage on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
