Ken Fleisch’s “The Red Barn” in acrylic.

Ken Fleisch’s “The Red Barn” in acrylic.

The Auction, sponsored by The Friends of Woodmen Hall, has received many exciting and generous donations for this year’s event. There will be furniture for the home or dorm, vintage items, tools, art work, several gift certificates from our local community, a twelve passenger van, some large gems from Edith Schwendeman’s collection, and an incredible piece of art.

This piece is by well know artist Ken Fleisch (check him out on the internet). It is an acrylic of a beautiful red barn. Mr. Fleisch’s work ranges in value from a few thousand dollars to $20,000 or more depending upon the piece. This is a phenomenal opportunity to help with the renovation of Woodmen Hall. The piece will have a reserve bid placed on it based upon its estimated value, so come prepared to make your best offer! If it does not sell at the auction, it will be offered through another venue.

This will be the third auction held by The Friends to help with the cost of the renovation of this historic building. So far, more than $50,000 has been raised at these auctions. When open, Woodmen Hall will house the Senior Services and will be available for rent by the community for private as well as community events.

This event will consist of a silent auction, a ‘sell it now’ selection of items, delicious food prepared by Angie and Rose, and the exciting live auction. You are invited to come spend the day, have lunch, see the beautiful work that has been done in the hall to date, and pick up a treasure or two. The date is Sunday, May 24.

The silent auction and ‘sell it now’ will run from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. The live auction begins at 1:00. See you there.
