• A deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor and the driver was issued an infraction for no valid operating license and warned for speeding.

• A deputy was dispatched to a report of theft in Friday Harbor.

• A deputy was dispatched to a report of theft of services in Friday Harbor. There were fees owed and later paid to the reporting party. No charges were pursued.

• A deputy issued an infraction to a driver for speeding 38 mph in the posted 25 mph zone on Argyle Avenue in Friday Harbor.

• A Lopez deputy responded to a harassment complaint between a landlord and a tenant. The involved parties agreed to communicate civilly until the tenant vacates the house.

• A deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a boating accident. One of the involved persons was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

• A deputy stopped a vehicle on Second Street in Friday Harbor. The driver was not wearing his safety belt. Driver did not have a valid driver’s license and had a 3-year-old in the front seat without a child restraint. The driver was cited for all three violations.

• A reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to harassment. The reporting deputy contacted the involved parties and requested that they not contact each other. They agreed.

• A deputy stopped a vehicle on Second Street in the Town of Friday Harbor. The deputy had cited the driver for not having a valid operator license 30 minutes prior and he drove past the deputy again in a different vehicle. He was cited again for the same infraction.

• Deputies responded to the Port Of Friday Harbor to investigate a domestic assault. A female was arrested for assault.

May 7

• A deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to an unwanted person. The subject was in a local business, driving other customers away. The subject was contacted but refused to leave. The subject was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.

May 8

• A deputy was dispatched to a malicious mischief complaint in the San Juan area.

• A subject entered a Friday Harbor residence without permission. The homeowners woke to a strange man in their house and told him to leave. The man stated his friend used to live at the residence, apologized and

left without incident.

• Deputies were dispatched to the Orcas ferry landing in reference to a ferry that was en-route from Anacortes with an unruly juvenile on board. Deputies were able to calm the juvenile down and was reunited with his parent.

• San Juan County Sheriff’s Office was advised by Customs and Border Protection of a vehicle arriving on the ferry from Canada with two individuals who were in violation of an order of protection.

• Deputies were dispatched to an Eastsound residence in reference to a welfare check. Deputies arrived and resolved the matter without having to take any action.

• A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a single vehicle collision involving a vehicle leaving the roadway and landing in a front yard. No injuries reported, but there was property damage. The driver was cited for not having a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

May 10

• A deputy in Friday Harbor initiated a traffic stop and the driver was issued an infraction for failure to wear a seat belt.

• Deputy stopped a vehicle at the 90 block of 2nd Street for failing to wear his safety belt. Driver was given a Traffic Infraction.•Deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor and the driver was issued an infractions for Negligent Driving in the Second Degree, No proof of insurance and warned for no seat belt. •A 45 year old Lopez Island man was arrested for Assault II-DV and Assault IV-DV, after a domestic disturbance at his residence. He was lodged in jail pending a Court appearance. The investigation is ongoing. •Orcas Deputies located a felony wanted subject at an Eastsound address. The subject was placed under arrest and taken to jail. May 12

•A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a citizen dispute. The Deputy talked with both parties involved to try and resolve the issue.

•An Eastsound resident reported her purse being stolen from a business. The suspect is unknown at this time.

•A person called to say they had located their stolen sailing pram tied to a dock in Eastsound. The boat was recovered, and the investigation of who took it continues.

•A deputy responded to Linder Street in Friday Harbor in reference a possible abandoned vehicle. Vehicle had a note on the dash stating it was disabled and they were making arrangements to move it.

May 13

•A Deputy in Friday Harbor conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for DUI. The driver was later released with a citation.

May 14

•A Sheriff Deputy performed a traffic stop in Eastsound on a driver for driving outside their respected lane. The deputy determined there was probable cause to believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, processed and released with a promise to appear.

•Complainant arrived at Dispatch with the listed cell phone. He states he found the phone on the ground near Lime Kiln State Park, near the south border with the neighboring land trust property.

•Deputies responded to a dog biting another dog at an Eastsound residence. The injuries were very minor. The dog owner wanted the other dog owner educated on county ordinances only at this time. A report was taken.

•We contacted a mother, daughter and their female roommate. Alcohol was involved in a loud 3 way argument. There was no evidence of physical violence. The parties agreed to separate for the evening to calm down.

May 15

•In Friday Harbor witnesses reported an assault . Deputy arrived and the victim was reluctant to give details, only agreeing with what the witness said. The suspect was identified and deputies checked the area for him. Deputies will continue to search for the suspect and arrest him for Assault.

•Deputies were dispatched to the Friday Harbor drug store for a shoplifter. The subject also had a $500 local warrant and was taken into custody, and issued a citation for the shoplift.

•A deputy was dispatched to a welfare check in the Friday Harbor area. The deputy contacted the involved parties. One of the involved parties was given a trespass warning.

•A female in Eastsound who had a local warrantqas arrested. The female was able to post bail. She was released with a promise to appear in

court.

May 16

•A deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a citizen that has been illegally recording the reporting party. This case is still under investigation.

•A San Juan Island resident reported a neighbor allowing his dog to run loose, and attacking her dog. The dog owner was contacted, and issued him a warning letter for the violation. The dog owner was compliant and admitted to the violation. This occurred in the area of Mt. Finlayson near Cape San Juan.

•A deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a fraud. It was reported that someone contacted the reporting party on the phone and tried to scam this person into sending her some money. The reporting party did not send any money.

•While on patrol, deputies identified a wanted person in the Eastsound area. Deputies contacted and took the subject into custody. The subject posted bail and was released without incident.

•A deputy learned that a male walking in Eastsound had two felony warrants for his arrest. The deputy made contact with the male and affected an arrest.

•Deputies responded to an Eastsound residence in reference to a domestic violence. When Deputies arrived they separated both parties.

•A deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor and the driver was issued an infraction for fail to wear seat belt and warned for expired vehicle registration.

•A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a theft of a bike. There are no suspects in the case.

•A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an identity theft. The victim reported that he had several unauthorized transactions on his credit card. There are no suspects at this time.

•Deputies were dispatched to an Eastsound address on a death investigation. There were no signs of foul play. The coroner was called and responded. A report was taken.

•A deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Suspicious Circumstance. The reporting deputy arrived and observed a couple in verbal argument. the parties were contacted and one agreed to go to another location. No enforcement action needed.
