Real and personal property taxes due October 31

San Juan County Treasurer, Rhonda Pederson, would like to remind county property owners that the second half of property taxes and personal property taxes are due Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Payments received in person, via our secure payment box or postmarked after the October 31 deadline are automatically charged one percent interest on outstanding balances. Please plan ahead to avoid interest charges. Our secure payment drop box is located at the Court House entrance on the Sheriff’s side of the building. If mailing your payment, the envelope must be federally postmarked on or before October 31 for the payment to be considered on time. Keep in mind, that although the payment is placed in the mailbox, federal postmarks often happen the next business day. If mailing in a payment less than a week prior to the deadline, we strongly recommend having your envelope hand-canceled by the postal agent.

Taxpayers enrolled in our autopay program should expect the second half payment for the amount listed on your second half tax payment coupon to debit your account on October 25, 2023.
