The San Juan County Council has appointed Johannes Krieger and Andy Holman to the San Juan County Marine Resources Committee, a citizens’ committee that supports research, promotes stewardship of marine resources and advises the County Council on Marine Resource issues.

The San Juan County Elections department reported on Oct. 23 that when the election ballots were sent out two weeks ago, a handful of Lopez residents’ ballots were printed twice and mailed out. The San Juan County Elections Department caught the mistake, called each person who was affected, and instructed him/her to throw away the voided ballot and use the correct one.
Community members of all political beliefs are invited to view the election results on a big screen TV at Lopez Center on Tuesday, Nov. 4, starting at 7 p.m.
