Lopez Community Center Open House

The Lopez Community Centers hosts an open house and dinner this Friday, May 6 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

“It’s our way to say thank you to the community and welcome everyone to the center,” said the Lopez Community Center’s new assistant director, Robert Harrison.

People are encouraged to filter in and out of the center throughout the evening and meet Harrison and Janet Baltzer, the center’s new director, who both look forward to gaining more insight into the community’s needs.

“It’s a good opportunity for us to hear what people like and dislike and where they might like to see the center go… their desires and hopes,” said Harrison.

It’s also a time for the community to get reacquainted with, not only what they can do for the center, but what the center can do for them. There will be tables set up with information about various volunteer opportunities, the process of how to set-up your own event and upcoming events. As the center has just launched there new website, computers are available for attendees to explore the center on-line.

The night will end with a light dinner and refreshments provided by local businesses.
