Local rock band to debut at Grange for Halloween dance party

All ages are invited to kick off their Halloween festivities with a cosmic dance party at the Orcas Grange.

A group of Orcas Island all-stars have united to create a new band, Plea80s, which will debut the last weekend in October for an epic rock show.

The band is comprised of Grace McCune on vocals and keyboard; Jake Perrine on vocals, electric guitar and keyboard; Bruce Harvie on guitar and mandolin; Kevin Colomby on vocals and bass; Alex Friedrich on drums; and Khadoma Colomby and Colleen Smith Summers (Islands’ Weekly publisher) on vocals.

The concert is on Saturday, Oct. 28 with doors opening at 7 p.m. for snacks and mingling. The music starts at 8 p.m. and will run for two hours. The set list features classic tunes from the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

The name Plea80s is an ode to the Pleiades constellation, also known as the Seven Sisters. The seven band members are first and foremost close friends, making their performance chemistry out of this world.

Tickets are $10 and available at https://m.bpt.me/event/6151312. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their finest costumes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
