Calling for 2022 Lopez Spirit Award Nominations!

Submitted by the Lopez Center for Community and the Arts.

This year marks the 23rd year of Lopez Center for Community and the Arts’ Andy and Dolly Holland Spirit Award. The Spirit Award Committee is seeking nominations for the 2022 Lopez Spirit Award recipient(s).

As many of you likely know, the last two years during the pandemic, the Community Center decreased its numbers of events. The Spirit Award happened in the form of a virtual community celebration. For the 2022 award, the Community Center would like to revive the essence of the award with a timeline befitting of an outdoor celebration in late spring/early summer.

The folks who have received the award in years past were dedicated to community volunteerism in various ways; visioning and building the Community Center, starting the KLOI community radio station, farming, sharing music, facilitating community celebrations, being great neighbors and volunteers and the list goes on and on!

The Lopez Spirit Award, is sponsored and given by the Community Center to a Lopez individual, couple or partners, who have consistently improved the lives of Lopezians through their volunteerism. These folks give to the community in extraordinary ways: unselfishly, reliably, lovingly, with tolerance and integrity.

Who comes to mind for you for 2022 for this sweet award? Let us know! The Community Center is now accepting nominations, January – Feb. 20 for the 2022 Spirit Award! The Award Recipient(s) will be selected in March followed by an outdoor Community Celebration in late spring!
