Keeping political discussions civil | Letter

We live in America! We all have our own opinions and beliefs, unique and precious.

We live in America! We all have our own opinions and beliefs, unique and precious.

Our opinions and beliefs should be respected by each other regardless of whether or not we believe in the other person’s opinion. That is our right, as Americans, and it is well spelled out in the First Amendment.

The beauty of our country, the United States, is that we live in a land that is free for all of us to exercise our rights, as citizens, to express our opinion and beliefs.

This is what makes a healthy country! It is the balance of differing opinions and the exchange of respectful conversation among each other. Seeing an individual from a certain political party yank out a sign because it does not align with their own belief, is not only disrespectful to the other person who placed it there, it is even more disrespectful to the First Amendment.

Please, let us all have a healthy exchange of opinions during this election. And please, let us all respect each other no matter whether you agree or disagree with your neighbor, friend, or family member.

This is America the beautiful!
