The Lobos track and field team traveled to Lummi Nation on May 3rd for the Northwest 1B League Championship. Lopez came away with numerous wins. More importantly, personal records fell right and left, producing a full team of qualifiers for District Finals at Coupeville, May 13. Among those achieving personal bests were Anna Fuller in the 800 m run; Fuller is ranked 5th in the state at that distance, and at two miles. Maya Briggs bested her previous time in the one mile by a full 45 seconds! Ethan Patrick took four seconds off his 800 m time and is closing in on his winning time at state last year of 4:02 (which is also the school record, held by his father, Shane Patrick). Other PRs were Rowdy Spreine (300 m hurdles), Ruby McClean (100 m hurdles), Lilly Nicholas (400 m), Jacob Sanford (400 m), Malachi Cary (100 m), Rafa Velazquez (two mile), and Andris Meissner (one mile).
