This winter the Lopez Library is introducing a new program called Lopez Writes. Refine your writing, connect with other writers and find great spaces to write. Lopez Writes is a project to support local authors and includes workshops on the craft of writing, drop-in writing groups, opportunities to read your work and more. All Lopez Writes programs are free and open to everyone. No registration is required. Space may be limited and is first come, first seated. Bring a charged laptop and your own writing tools. The winter 2018 schedule includes a memoir-writing workshop with Karen Fisher, a screenwriting workshop with Laurie Parker, and a dialogue-writing workshop with Lorrie Harrison. The library will also offer 90-minute writing circles, hosted by library staff, for writing exercises and motivation. On Monday, March 5 at 5 p.m. in the library salon, writers will have a chance to read from their work. All are welcome to read or listen. Check out the library website or stop by the library for dates and details. The library hopes this program will support the writing community, and feedback is more than welcome. Lopez Writes is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Lopez Island Library.
