Blood drives on San Juan, Orcas and Lopez

Submitted by Bloodworks Northwest

This March, we don’t need luck, we need you. Donate your life-saving blood at an upcoming drive.

A blood drive reminds us that we have so much to be thankful for — especially our health. Every blood donor is a potential lifesaver. Every unit of whole blood collected is typically separated into blood’s components – platelets, plasma, cryoprecipitate and red cells – and can benefit up to three patients.

Bloodworks Northwest donors recently supported a 19-year-old patient undergoing cardiac transplant rejection and recent cardiac arrest. This patient required heavy usage of red blood cells, platelets, plasma and cryoprecipitate. This is how your blood works miracles.

San Juan – Wednesday, March 15, from 11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the Mullis Community Senior Center.

Orcas – Thursday, March 16, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Fire Station in Eastsound.

Lopez – Friday, March 17, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. (closed from 1:30-2:30) at the Community Church in the Village.
