An Act of Bee at Notre Dame

by Brenda M. Asterino

Beloved Lady

My heart is tattered

There’s too much deranged

One more thing shattered.

I am weary

With my worldly care

Prove to me please

That you are still there.

I looked into fire

All flame and all smoke

Terror consumed me

Fearful, I choked.

But…

“Bees have returned”

The internet said

Rooftop hives alive

Removed all my dread.

Gratitude, Joy will

Release this dismay

The Truth never changed

I looked the wrong way.

Cycles continue

Justice can be real

When fearless acts

Of Love are revealed.

Is love not faith?

The faith to believe?

That all is not lost

Even bees perceived.

Sacred Beloved

It’s so from the start

All life at all times

Is kept in our heart.

Please act on it –

We play our own parts.

All life for all times

Is inside our own hearts.
