In my first year coaching track and field, we had five students overall. This year is insane.

Twenty-six students showed up in the snow with all the paperwork filled out on the first day of track 2024. I am beyond thrilled to see these numbers, and equally thrilled to watch our track program grow and reach for the stars. Last year we had a team of sixteen, eleven who advanced to the state tournament! After the first few days of practice this year, I can say that this team is willing to do the hard work, willing to show up despite uncomfortable circumstances (which have been common).

In track and field, the main muscle you develop is grits, tons of which I see already. We have some returning all-stars who podiumed at state last year, such as Anna Fuller, Ethan Patrick, and Lily Nicholas. But the potential out there is unmatched. I am beyond excited to take on the season with this amazing group of athletes. Look out world, here comes Lobo Track & Field!
