Every year, Lopez Secondary School’s talented art, drama, and music students present a “Winter Arts Night” for the community.
Held on Thursday, Jan. 17 at Lopez Center, the evening begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Students’ visual art and photography will be on display, and drama students will perform monologues.
At 7 p.m., the Lopez Youth Orchestra and the Lopez School Choir will perform Hebrew songs, the World Beat Ensemble (formerly called the Lopez Marimba/Drum Ensemble) will pump out some lively rhythms from Africa, and the Lopez High School Band is going to play rock, blues, and other eclectic tunes.
This is the 15th year Lopez School has organized a Winter Arts Night for its 6th through 12th grade students.
“We do this to present to the community the arts at Lopez School. And it gives the kids a chance to perform and show their stuff,” said Ann Marie Fischer, Lopez Secondary School music teacher.
