The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls.

Dec. 11

• A deputy responded to a report of a verbal argument at a Lopez residence. The involved persons, who lived together, confirmed there was no physical assault or threat of a physical assault during their argument. The investigating deputy found no evidence of a crime.

• A deputy was dispatched to a report of threats being made in Friday Harbor.

• A deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in Friday Harbor. It was later learned to be verbal confrontation and not a domestic relationship.

• A deputy was called about a civil issue in Friday Harbor.

Dec. 12

• A San Juan deputy responded to a report of a theft.

• A deputy on San Juan assisted with a walk-in report of harassment.

• A deputy in Friday Harbor responded to a report of a trespassing complaint. The subject was located and a do-not-trespass letter was issued.

• On Lopez, a deputy directed an elderly dog back into its yard after finding it wandering in the road.

Dec. 13

• A San Juan deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. The deputy found that no crime had been committed.

• A Lopez deputy was called to investigate a suspicious vehicle parked off a county road. The vehicle was found unoccupied and a records check showed it belonged to a local resident.

• San Juan deputies were dispatched to suspicious circumstances in Friday Harbor. The involved party was arrested for violating an order.

• Deputies responded to a Lopez residence to investigate a possible domestic violence incident. An investigation revealed no conclusive evidence of a crime.

Dec. 14

• A deputy was dispatched to a disturbance in the Friday Harbor area.

• A deputy on San Juan forwarded failure-to-register-as-a-sex offender charges to the county prosecutor on an individual who left the county without registering as required by law.

• A deputy on Orcas took a report of a stolen bicycle.

• Deputies on Orcas responded to a complaint about a suspicious person. The person was located and contacted. The complaint was determined to be unfounded.

• A deputy on Orcas issued a driver a citation for speeding 40 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Dec. 15

• A deputy responded to a delayed report of a communications issue in Friday Harbor.

• A deputy in Friday Harbor responded to a traffic hazard. A driver was issued a citation for having an expired vehicle registration and no insurance.

• A deputy on Orcas issued a driver a citation for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and for not having proof of liability insurance.

• A driver on Orcas received a citation for speeding 48 mph in a 35 mph zone.

• A driver on Orcas received a citation for speeding 39 mph in a 25 mph zone. The deputy also issued the driver a citation for operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement.

• An Orcas deputy conducted a traffic stop near Eastsound and issued the driver a citation for speeding 40 mph in a 25 mph zone.

• In Friday Harbor, a deputy responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a business. One person was asked to leave the business.

Dec. 16

• A deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area about a burglary. The deputy arrived, discovered a business had been illegally entered, and arrested one person for burglary.

• A Lopez resident spoke with a deputy after finding a spent shell casing at an island boat ramp.

• A San Juan deputy was dispatched to a welfare check. An arrest was made for an order violation.

• Lopez deputies spoke to a resident who has been receiving unwanted contact from a former acquaintance. No crime had occurred and the person was advised to seek a no-contact order from the court.

• A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at an Eastsound residence. It appeared that somebody had attempted to enter an unoccupied residence but was unable to do so.

• A deputy received a report of unwanted persons outside an Eastsound business. The persons were located between two private establishments and were asked to vacate. They left without further incident.

• A San Juan deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and made a report.

Dec. 17

• Found property was turned in to a Lopez deputy for safekeeping.

• A deputy took a report of a possible overdose at an Eastsound residence. Upon arrival, the male subject was aggressive and hostile and taken into protective custody because he was found to be gravely disabled and presented a danger to others.

• A San Juan deputy took a report of fraud.

• A deputy was dispatched to a disturbance in the Friday Harbor area.
