Samish ferry out of service; handful of May 20 sailings canceled

Submitted by Washington State Ferries

As of 10:20 a.m., on Thursday, May 20, the No. 3 vessel Samish remains out of service due to mechanical problems. Technicians are currently on-site for repairs. Updates will be provided when more information becomes available.

Reservation rules have been relaxed for customers who no longer want to travel today, and new reservations have also been blocked. Existing reservation holders will be loaded on a first-come, first-served basis, and they’re encouraged to arrive to the terminal early as there will be delays.

The following sailings are canceled:

• 9:05 a.m. Anacortes to Friday Harbor

• 11 a.m. Friday Harbor to Anacortes

• 12:35 p.m. Anacortes to Lopez and Orcas

• 2:20 p.m. Orcas to Anacortes

The safety of our customers and crew is WSF’s top priority. Please remember that all traveling customers are required to wear face coverings inside the terminal, at the tollbooth and aboard the ferry. Please also consider limiting your travel to only the most essential trips while service continues to be constrained by the pandemic.
