Results of the 4th of July Lopez Lions Club-sponsored race/walk event

Once again fun was had by all in the 30th annual, and attendance-breaking Lopez Lions Club-sponsored running/walking event. While last year’s event registered 312, that record was shattered with 363, an 18 % increase this year under perfect participant conditions with 82 running the 10 km, 186 in the 5 km run and 95 walkers. And a BIG THANK YOU to all who helped pull this event off which raised much-needed money for Lopez Lion-funded causes!!

Matt Morrison captured the 10 kilometer run in 37 minutes and 15 seconds. Amy Esary won the women’s divison with a 40:03. Male age division winners: 13 to 19 years old – Lucas Zapico (40:18), 20 to 29 – Adam Walker (47:55), 30 to 39 – Matt Morrison, 40 to 49 – Tucker Scott (37:39), 50 to 59 – Fred Paxson (44:50), 60 to 69 – Dennis Dahl (48:16), over 70 – Jon Avent (63:39). Women 10 Km division winners; 13 to 19 – Marley McKay (54:17), 20 to 29 – Ingen Dahl (46:42), 30 to 39 – Amy Esary, 40 to 49 Tamara Gellert (44:57), 50 to 59 – Ginny Gulder (52: 31), 60 to 69 – Caroline Heino (68:06).

Five kilometer run winners were Kathy Morrison (21:12) and Dave Scheibel (20:01). Female divison winners: 12 and under – Zanna Sullivan (25:20), 13 to 19 – Lyna Dalton (23:53), 20 to 29 – Anna Mader (26:17), 30 to 39 – Kathy Morrison, 40 to 49 – Christine Carr (24:23), 50 to 59 – Theresa Westfall (24:24), 60 to 69 – Nancy Gallup (38:48), 70 to 79 – Flora Coughlin (47:10). Male winners: 12 and under catagory – Ian Clark (21:31), 13 to 19 – Keagen Smith (20:07), 20 to 29 – Paul Steinheiser (23:20), 30 to 39 – Dave Scheibel, 40 to 49 – Steven Baclke (20:17), 50 to 59 – Mason Bowles (23:19), 60 to 69 – Tom Cowan (27:48), 70 to 79 – Dick Rust (41:13), 80 to 89 – George Fuller (46:40).

Five kilomeler male walk winners by age division were: 13 to 19 – Ben Gregoire (36:58), 30 to 39 – Marius Adunitro (51:53), 40 to 49 – Bill Gregoire (36:40), 50 to 59 – Duke Diller (46:17), 60 to 69 – John Biedler (45:09), over 70 – Bruce Mayward (41:42). Female winners were: 13 to 19 – Erin Lee (37:07), 20 to 29 – Lindssay Daggett (49:59), 30 to 39 – Tiffany Budke (40:59), 40 to 49 – Libby McKee (41.54), 50 to 59 – Peggy Migeham (39:20), 60 to 69 – Alfie Eldridge (42:50), over 70 – Susan Mackle (47:38).
