Orcas Public School open house

Art throughout the hallways, musicians playing in the Elementary School, lantern making in the courtyard, arts and crafts in the classrooms and a slide show on the Cascade Creek watershed study as it enters Buck Bay – these are just a few of the wonderful things Orcas Public School kids are planning to share at this year’s Open House on Friday, May 16. All classrooms will be open to visit and enjoy from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

After you visit the classrooms, stop by the school cafeteria for the first seasonal Harvest Meal at School between 5 and 7 p.m. It will be a Farm-to-Cafeteria event featuring a menu of fresh local produce prepared by Orcas Island chefs Annie Sparks-Dempster and Charles Dalton. Served “cafeteria style” and surrounded by family and friends, the Harvest Meal is not to be missed. Adults are $5 and children 12 and under are $2.
