San Juan County Parks, Recreation, and Fair Department, in cooperation with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and San Juan County Fire District 4 (Lopez), will be performing a prescribed burn at Odlin County Park on Lopez Island on Oct. 23.

The burn will occur at Odlin County Park, 148 Odlin Park Road, Lopez Island, WA 98261. The burn will take place near the park entrance, on the uphill side (east) of the main park road.

Project Background

In the summer of 2025, County Park staff, along with the San Juan Islands Conservation District’s Youth Conservation Corps, worked together to collect woody debris from the forest floor for brush piles. This burn will help with fuel reduction as well as provide a training opportunity for San Juan County Fire District 4.
