Robert Edward Jenison, 89, of Lopez Island, Wash., passed away at Skagit Valley Hospital, in Mount Vernon, Wash., on July 14, surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 21, 1922 to Glen and Rosamond Jenison in Mobridge, S.D.

Bob’s family moved out west and lived a short while in Seattle before purchasing a farm on Lopez Island in 1944. In 1948, Bob married his wife of over 63 years, Margaret Ann Hodgson. and they had three children, Richard Robert, Julie Ann and Shelley Roseanne.

He spent 35 years reef net fishing and in his spare time, his creative and forward thinking mind resulted in his obtaining multiple patents.

Bob was a Member of Grace Episcopal Church and the Lopez Island Grange.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his daughter Julie and his two brothers, George and Art.

Bob is survived by his wife Margaret Ann, his children Shelley and Richard, grandchildren Amy, Rachael, Timothy and Devin and 5 great-grandchildren, Julie, Tyler, Daniel, Emma and Kara.

Memorials in Bob’s name may be made to Lopez Union Cemetery or Lopez EMTs.  Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, Wash. and the San Juan Islands.
