SJC Fair

Come one, come all to the San Juan County Fair Wednesday, Aug. 17 through Saturday, Aug. 20.

The islands’ agricultural heritage will be on display at this year’s county fair, with the theme being “Barn and raised in the islands.”

The fair board chose the theme to encompass the entire county and all home-grown island qualities.

The local 4-H chapter will be holding events each day of the fair. Tuesday through Saturday 4-H will feature livestock and pet related events, along with archery and performances.

On Saturday, see how craftsmen create wool shawls from scratch at the Sheep to Shawl demonstration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Audiences will be amazed and amused by some of the best local musicians and some of the most eclectic entertainers on the West Coast.
