As part of ongoing fund raising efforts, the Lopez Thrift Shop will host their third Asian Fusion Dinner on June 9 at The Love Dog Cafe. The money raised will help with the building costs of their new building.

The chefs preparing the evening’s menu will be Maria Armstrong, Junko Fujiwara and Beverly Russ. They will be combining their ethic food knowledge to prepare a distinct and delicious dinner.

The varied menu will include Japanese miso soup, fried rice, oriental salad, Korean beef bulgogi and garlic sauteed green beans. Dessert will be also served.

White Bear, owner of The Love Dog Cafe, is donating the use of her restaurant. There will be two seatings for dinner. The first will be from 5-6:30 p.m. and the second will be from 6:45-8 p.m. This year take out dinners will also be available. The ticket price is $30 per person for both the in house and take out meals.

Tickets are only available through advanced sales at The Thrift Shop and the Lopez Village Market on May 21 and 22, noon-4 p.m. and May 28 and 29.

Lopez Thrift Shop’s new building is in the final stages of completion.

Interior fixtures, outdoor steps and ramps are needed to get occupancy approval. The Thrift Shop Board hopes to be in business in the new shop by mid-summer.
