Special to the Weekly

The first year we held this event was in 2005 when Tex Gieling came up with the idea and I facilitated it.

We would love to have you join us for this annual car party or come and view the incredible collection of vehicles that show up. You’d be surprised to see what we have here on Lopez and others that come from off island for it.

It’s a fun event and brings out some interesting vehicles – everything from Tex Gieling’s 1932 Chrysler Coupe, to any one of a number of Dick Pickering’s fleet of vehicles, to the Alfa Romeos, model Ts or As, Mercedes 190 convertible and more and more and more.

Show up with your antique, unique or unusual car or truck on Saturday, Aug. 13 in the village between Lopez Village Park and the old grocery around 10:30 a.m. There will be parking for your car along the road.

Around noon we’ll leave the village and drive down Fisherman Bay Road to 121 Coffelt Drive for a picnic lunch.

For more information, contact Helen Cosgrove at 468-3624 or Tex Gieling at 468-3407.

Please join us for a fun day.
