The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems is proud to announce that Island Air Ambulance, a fixed-wing emergency medical transport service based in Friday Harbor, was once again awarded full accreditation at the critical care level this past April. The Commission accredits medical transport services worldwide.
In commenting on Island Air’s strength, the Commission recognized the organization is engaged and connected with the island communities it serves as evidenced by a high rate of positive feedback. In his letter of transmittal, Dr. Francis Guyette, professor of emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Chair of CAMTS wrote, “The Board of Directors has asked me to extend their heartfelt congratulations on achieving full accreditation. This represents a significant achievement for your medical transport service.”
Island Air Ambulance provides highly skilled pilots and flight nurse/paramedic teams that care for adult and pediatric patients for island residents and visitors.
