A Conference

I had the extreme pleasure of attending a lecture about the astronomy of Baja California. The entire lecture was in Spanish and I was able to comprehend most of it. It always astounds me how the ancients recorded time and events. In pre-Hispanic Baja California, the indigenous people recorded a total solar eclipse that occurred in 1496. Cave paintings depict the people’s relationship with the stars and planets in a culture that is largely only known for its Aztec and Mayan calendars. Modern Mexican astronomers have great respect for their ancestors and it was a magical evening, seeing the old and the new coming together in harmony. If only we could all do that, allow the old to transform into the new without so much angst and arguments.

You have been going full tilt for a while, and you could use some respite. Appeal to your spouse for a vacation and go rest and engage in a new activity that will please you.

Leo (July 23 — August 22): This is an incredible time for you, with good results of your hard work coming in from everywhere. Others may feel neglected because of lack of contact with you, but you are focused, and hopefully you can communicate that your heart is with them even though you are preoccupied. The Full Moon this week brings her magical illumination to your sector of communication, so this would be a good week to touch bases with those you love the most.

Virgo (August 23 — September 21): This week’s Full Moon lights up your financial sector, so if you have been working to build a good foundation for your future, you are very likely to see results now. With a lot of emphasis in your sector of relationships, it may be difficult for you to find the time for yourself to think clearly, but try to meditate on the Full Moon and let it fill you.

Libra (September 22 — October 23): This week is your time as the Full Moon shines into your very soul, in your sign. This only happens once a year, so let it fill you and lift you. If you are engaged with the arts or sciences, you will experience a breakthrough in the coming weeks due to the influence of this specific Full Moon. Take full advantage of it and enjoy it!

Scorpio (October 24- November 22): The Full Moon this week brings with it the understanding of something that ended within the last year, and helps you understand more about what was previously hidden. You do tend to seek out the mysterious and the depths with no fear, but at times your quest can lead you down a blind path. Now is the time to see.
