Many islanders woke up this morning to several inches of snow.

In my neighborhood in Hannah Heights, snow reached 7-inches by mid-morning.

After getting stuck in the driveway, I decided to set out on foot to see more of this “Winter Wonderland.” Down near the neighborhood’s private beach Kathy Oberreit and her three daughters took a stroll in the snow, enjoying a day off of school.

They spent the rest of th e day playing board games and sipping cocoa. I decided to test out my snowboard on the fresh powder on a nearby hill. What did you do today? If you have pictures or want to share your snow story send an email to cbagby@islandsweekly.net.

Snow on Wednesday is expected to change to rain, which could result in extremely heavy loads on roofs. Keep a close eye on car ports, sheds, and other structures prone to collapse.
