Lopez Children’s Center

P.O. Box 867

In these unprecedented times, we are continuing to support our families with home activities and check-ins. We are looking forward to reopening as soon as possible when it is safe. We know we will need to embrace the children in our programs, to help them reestablish their routines and be ready for kindergarten. After a period of unemployment, many families may need help with their tuition costs, utilities & insurance still need to be paid and our staff compensated. We need the help of the Lopez community, to continue to provide services throughout the coming year. Goal $10,000.

Lopez Island Historical Museum

P.O. Box 163

The Port Stanley Schoolhouse is an island gem. Saved and restored by the generosity and hard work of many in this community, we now count on your goodwill and love of Lopez history to help us maintain it. At times like these, the importance of preserving our history and coming together as a community are highlighted. The funds raised for this project will help keep some local folks employed during this economically stressful time. Maintenance needed includes reglazing windowpanes, touching up exterior paint, and refinishing UV-damaged interior woodwork. Goal $10,000, match $4,000.

Lopez Island Family Resource Center

PO Box 732

Our neighbors need additional supports. In this unprecedented time of the COVID-19 crisis, LIFRC needs your support more than usual for assistance to community members for food, to pay their rent, mortgages, and utility bills, as well as therapy sessions to help people cope. We want everyone to have nourishing food, stay safely housed, get the emotional support they need, and not accumulate debt that they won’t be able to pay back later.

Please make a donation of any size today. We greatly appreciate our donors being an integral part of LIFRC’s rapid response team making it possible for us to care for the island’s needs.

Lopez Center for Community and the Arts

PO Box 532

Lopez Center is the primary gathering place for our island community. This year we’re asking for help to make the Center more resilient. Two improvements are needed. The first is to replace the two old water fountains with more sanitary, less wasteful ones that have the capability of filling bottles. The second is trenching for high-speed fiber internet that will vastly improve phone and Wi-Fi connections — so important for daily operations, rentals and in emergencies. Thanks to several Lopezians, donations will be matched 100 percent until we reach our goal. Goal $6,000, match $3,000.
