Great Island Cleanup is Saturday, April 18. In celebration of Earth Day. Lopez has chosen 11 beaches and nine roadside areas. Organizers invite you to join them for this event. Register at Lopez Community Center.

Many of you regularly de-trash roads and beaches on Lopez, and we thank you. This annual event is a time to join a host of other Lopezians and give the island a good spring cleaning. There will be prizes for best costume, most interesting thing found and largest load delivered on a cargo bike.

Join the community for a pre-event free yoga class (gentle yoga taught by Nikyta Palmisani) at the Lopez Center for Community and the Arts from, 8-8:45 a.m. on April 18, then open registration from 9-10 a.m.
