On July 4th the Friends of the Lopez Island Library will hold their eagerly awaited Used Book Sale at the Lopez Community Center. The sale will be held between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. with hardback books, paperbacks, DVDs, CDs, and other items sold at amazing prices. A “best deal” is the red “Friends of the Library” book bag which you can fill with books and pay only $20. Get there early for the best selection!
All profits from the sale go to the Friends of Lopez Island Library which is the fund raising arm of the library and supports a variety of library programs and special equipment purchases that benefit the library and its patrons. Special programs supported by the Friends of the Library include presentations by writers such as Nancy Pearl and Garth Stein as well as talks by naturalists on whales and owls. The Children’s Summer Reading Program, Teddy Bear Picnic and Books for Babies are programs directed at young readers and future readers.
