Dog licenses for 2017 now on sale

Dog licenses for 2017 now on sale

Canaan, a 5-year-old Border Collie, received the first 2017 dog license of the season at the San Juan County Auditor’s Office. Dog tags will be sold beginning Monday, Nov. 28.

Canaan is a champion agility dog and has won many awards along with his owner Bob Anderson.

All dogs, 3 months of age or older, are required to be licensed in San Juan County. License fees are:

• Spayed or neutered: $12

• “Natural” dogs: $30

• Replacement tag: $2

• Late fee: $10 (applies after March 31)

Dog licenses are available at the San Juan County Auditor’s Office and many other convenient locations listed below.

Orcas Island: Orcas Animal Protection Society, Pawkis for Pets, Eastsound Kennels

Lopez Island: Sunset Builders, Ark Veterinary Clinic

San Juan Island: Auditor’s Office, Harbor Veterinary Services, San Juan Island Animal Protection Society
