County needs Lopez member for Noxious Weed Board

The Noxious Weed Board is looking for a Lopez representative.

The Noxious Weed Board is looking for a Lopez representative.

The candidate must be actively engaged in farming or forestry and be willing to meet once a month, usually for about two hours, with the Noxious Weed Board. Board members serve as advisors to the program weed coodinators and generally supervise the program.

Currently meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. Most meetings are in Friday Harbor at the WSU extension office but members are welcome to call in also.

The board has been without Lopez representation for about two years. As Rich Lee, board member, says, having this representative would allow the interests of Lopez to better served.
