Lopez Island

Comedy tonight! The 5th Annual Festival of One-Act Plays.

Lopez school students in grades 6-12 perform a variety of hilarious one-act plays, appropriate for middle school, high school and adult audiences. Thursday, Feb. 5 and Friday, Feb. 6, beginning at 7:30 pm at Lopez Center. The entire show runs approximately 75 minutes.Admission is by donation.

Bring your gardening TIPS to share or just take some new ideas home with you! Learn about shortcuts, hints, ideas, and resources freely offered by experienced Lopez Gardeners. Added Bonus: GLENDA PUGERUDE

Make Your Own Movie-For Girls Only!

Come and learn the basic skills of video production. Sue DuMond will teach girls how to direct, shoot, and edit their own videos. We’ll supply the camera and you’ll produce the video! Movie-making has been a popular class at the Secondary School level and in our Summer Workshops and we are excited to offer this opportunity for elementary age girls. Ages: 3rd-5th grade (Min 4, Max 6 girls). Fee: $18 Dates: Wednesday & Thursday (2/4, 2/5, 2/11, 2/12). Time: 3:30-5:00 Place: Lopez Family Resource Center (kids can take the bus-just send a note with each class) Please call if you have questions, 468-4117.

Peace Vigil

Every Fri from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm (across from the Love Dog) Imagine Peace…come stand in awareness at the “Peace Vigil”.

Tai Chi on Lopez

Lopez AA Meetings

Lopez AA meetings at the Children’s Center: Monday, Big Book, 7:30 p.m.; Friday, 12×12, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, noon. Al-Anon family group meets every Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall of Grace Episcopal Church. Women’s meeting Wednesday, 4-5 p.m. (call 468-4648 or 468-0541 for location).

Cedar Overlay Basket Workshop with Polly Adams Sutton

In this class with Polly we will be twining using cedar and northwest sweet grass. The workshop is appropriate for all levels of weavers.

Lapsit and Linger for Infants and Toddlers

10:00 a.m. Free. The San Juan Island Library offers Lapsit and Linger for parents, infants and toddlers each Thursday morning at the San Juan Island Library from 10:00 to 11:00. Parents and toddlers are invited for stories, songs, and socializing.

Family Film Night—Napoleon

6:30 p.m. San Juan Island Library, free. Gather up the family to watch the adventures of the little golden retriever and his friend the parakeet as they discover the secrets of living on an island. Free popcorn and beverages are provided courtesy of Friends of the Library.

Getting Comfortable With Computers at the Library

10:00 a.m. San Juan Island Library, free. This 4 week course is designed for participants with no previous computer knowledge. Class size is limited so registration is required. Sign up by calling 378-2798 or stopping by the information desk in the library.
