Community Shakespeare, The Tempest: The Tempest is a play by William Shakespeare, probably written in 1610–11, although some researchers have argued for an earlier dating. The play`s protagonist is the banished sorcerer Prospero, rightful Duke of Milan, who initially uses his magical powers to punish his enemies when he raises a tempest that drives them ashore. 4:30 p.m. at the LCCA. Performed by actors grades 1-8. Admission by donation.

Community Shakespeare, The Merry Wives of Windsor: Probably written in 1597-8, Merry Wives is Shakespeare`s most middle-class play in setting, subject matter, and outlook. It`s also one of his most farcical works, using physical gags and linguistic jokes to establish a comic tone that influence the play`s ultimate spirit of reconciliation, after all the intrigues have been sorted out. 7:30 p.m. at the LCCA. Performed by grades 8 and up. Admission by donation.

Concert/Contra Dance at Woodmen Hall: 7:30 p.m. Playing will be Crowfoot, a band from Montreal blending Gaelic, Irish, American and Quebecois styles.
