Computer Training: 10 – 11 a.m., Lopez Library community meeting room.Free basic computer skills each Friday morning. Learn about all the keys on your keyboard and how they operate in Windows. Learn about your mouse. Learn about searching the world wide web and your own library’s information. Learn to create documents, save, print and search them. You’ll be emailing and surfing the net in no time. Classes will be tailored around those who attend the class each week. Drop-ins welcome.

Virgo Birthday Bash with Elephant Revival: 7:30 p.m., Woodmen Hall. Nederland Colorado neo-acoustic quintet Elephant Revival plays a unique blend of an emerging new musical genre called Transcendental Folk. The quintet can be seen delving into Scottish/Celtic fiddle tunes, original folk pieces, traditional ballads, psychedelic country, indie rock, powerful reggae grooves, 40s/50s jazz standards and an occasional hip-hop beat amongst other styles. Tickets $10.

Lopez Island Hazardous Waste Round-up: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Annual collection for safe recycling/disposal of flammable, toxic, corrosive or reactive wastes from households and businesses. United Way of San Juan County Day of Caring: 9 a.m., Lopez School Garden.United Way of San Juan County will be hosting a work party at the school garden in honor of their Day of Caring from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and are seeking volunteers to help with last minute gate details, working on a few desired building projects, some gardening and perhaps working on processing tomatoes for the school cafeteria. They are also in need of some volunteers to donate food for a celebratory lunch taking place directly after the work party for all involved.
