Lopez Artist Guild Trip to SAM: 7:30 a.m., Seattle Art Museum. A group from Lopez Artist Guild will travel to see the Picasso exhibit in Seattle on a triangle charter bus. The group leaves Lopez on the 7:30 a.m. ferry and arrives at SAM at 10 a.m. They have until 4 p.m. to view the exhibit and have lunch, leaving for Lopez at 4 p.m. and arriving for the 6 p.m. ferry. An Italian Feast and fundraiser: 5 – 7 p.m., Lopez School. The meal is to celebrate school and kitchen volunteers and to provide income to pay an assistant cook for extra hours. There will be a silent auction. The menu for the fundraiser will feature pasta with roasted tomatoes with or without Lopez beef, homemade garlic bread, a garden salad, pumpkin cake, hot tea and cold raspberry tea.

Tickets are $10 per person, $5 for elementary age children. Children age 2 and younger have free entry.

Lopez Island Garden Club: 9:30 a.m., Woodmen Hall. BooShoot Gardens in Mount Vernon will be featured at the club’s November meeting. The topic is “Bamboo that Behaves.” The speaker, David Binczewski, will provide information about the value bamboo provides for the planet. Refreshments at 9:30 a.m. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. Sponsored by Lopez Island Garden Club.

Chimera Gallery reception for group show, “In The Holiday Spirit: New Work, Silent Auction, Raffle Kick-Off.” Place your bids for your favorite artists’ work and purchase raffle tickets to support the gallery’s Lopez High School Art Scholarship. Show runs through Dec. 10.
