“Full Signal”: Film, 7 – 9 p.m. Lopez Center, This controversial 2009 documentary by Talal Jabari, provides insight into the reality of the health impacts of cellular technology and the industry behind it. The film interviews leading scientists who have been studying the effects of non-thermal microwave radiation on humans. This is a timely presentation. It’s time to ask ourselves the question: Are we ready to live next to a cell tower and what will it mean? San Juan County is currently reviewing our Wireless Ordinance and a Cell Tower Task Force has, since 2008, created a draft proposal which eliminates setbacks (other than the height of the tower), allows cell towers to be placed on any land use designation, reduces notification of neighbors from 1000 feet to 300 feet and streamlines permitting. There will be time for discussion following the film.
