What did you do at school today?
At Lopez School, community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we are inviting you to volunteer and help make a lasting impact on the lives of our students. While providing support to school staff, you’ll be contributing to the learning experience for students and the health of our entire island community.
Volunteering at school is not just about giving your time — it’s about building meaningful connections and watching the positive effects of your involvement. It’s an opportunity to develop new skills, make new friends and experience the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of young learners.
The school has not had a volunteer program in a decade. This spring we are developing systems for effective volunteer involvement and need to fill short-term assignments between now and the end of the school year on June 13. We’ll get your feedback on your volunteer experience and use it to build a robust program for the future. Current positions include cafeteria, recess and pickup support; office and library assistance; van driving; garden work; and class enrichment support in the garden. You can volunteer for as little as an hour a week. Contact us to learn more, and we’ll help find a good fit for your talents, interests and schedule.
Join us at school and enjoy the rewards of being a part of our educational community. Your time and talents will help us shape the future, one student at a time. To get involved, send an email to volunteer@lopezislandschool.org. We can’t wait to have you on board!
