UW Medicine welcomes Dr. Dougan

Kim Dougan, MD, a University of Washington family medicine physician has joined the UW Medicine Lopez Island Clinic as the new clinic chief effective June 1, 2022.

Dougan is an experienced family medicine physician certified by the American Board of Family Medicine who formerly worked at the UW Medicine Olympia Clinic.

Her clinical interests include ADHD/ADD, addiction medicine, behavioral health, chronic disease management, diet and nutrition, preventive medicine, and women’s health. She has experience providing care to patients residing in more rural areas, including Bainbridge Island and the Silverdale and Poulsbo communities.

Dougan is a patient-oriented physician who returned to medical school after a 20-year career as a public high school teacher in the Seattle area. She achieved her medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University and completed her residency training at Group Health Cooperative in Seattle.

Dougan provides her patients with, comprehensive, and compassionate healthcare. She loves family medicine and interacting and caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds while helping people understand complex medical issues and how to make their health better. Her teaching career and work as a physician demonstrate her dedication to the community and helping people learn and discover their greatest potential.

Dougan enjoys traveling, hiking with her dog, camping, kayaking, and gardening. She is fluent in French.
