On Friday, Dec. 9 our K-12 students will participate in presentations, clinics and cross curriculum music learning with The Ocho Pies Quartet.

Cuban music is one of the quartet’s specialties is blending dance and folkloric music of the Caribbean, North and South America, Haiti, Africa with original compositions.

The quartet returns this week from their ninth annual teaching trip to the prestigious Guillermo Tomas School of Music in Guanabacoa, Cuba. They will share those experiences with our classes such as American History, Contemporary World Problems, World Cultures, Spanish, Middle School Social Studies and all music students.

They sing in five languages while playing an array of instruments. The school day ends with a performance for all at 2 p.m. in the gym. We will ask students to join that performance with the quartet.
