The grange winter market is back

Submitted by The Lopez Island Grange #1060.

The Lopez Island Grange #1060 after a two-year hiatus due to Covid, is once again sponsoring a Winter Market at the Grange. “We had originally scheduled two markets per month for January, February, and March with one additional in April. However, due to an uptick in Covid cases, we chose to cancel the January Markets” said Sam Bernardi the Market Manager. Reopening on February 12th and 16th drew nearly 300 visitors to the first two markets. Vendors included Ursa Minor selling fermented vegetables, the Finley Vern Fish Company with wild-caught Alaskan Salmon, The Lucky Ewe Farm with Lamb and Wool products, Dirt Drive Micro Roaster with coffee beans and freshly brewed coffee, Rudy’s Homemade Granola, and the Lopez Island Grange History Booth. The history booth features a display of historical photos and information about the 1903 historic building, former Center School, one of the first schools on the island. As fundraising for upcoming building improvements the history booth is selling Lopez Grange/Center school T-shirts and stickers, and earth, Cascadia, and pride flags. We look forward to North Star Farm’s baked goods joining us at the March 26th and April 9th markets. Also featured is the Poutine Your Mouth food truck in the parking lot with delicious food to take or eat on sight. The next three Winter Markets at the Grange will be held on March 12th and 26th and April 9th. Market hours are 10am-2 p.m. This is a free to attend family friendly event. The Lopez Island Grange is located at 452 Richardson Road on Lopez Island.
