The 60’s | Poetry

By Colleen James

I have such fond memories of the past

Flower children, street art, peace signs

Make love not war

The horse with no name

Long colorful dresses, bare feet

I hated the war

Yet loved most everything else

The music

From Leonard Cohen to the Beatles

And all of it in between

I remember the urge to dance

To anything with a beat

Even to the sound of falling rain

I don’t miss the old days

As I always have them with me

And today?

Well, I just found myself doing the TWIST

To the rhythm of a dripping faucet
