The Legacy Writers group meets at the Gathering Place the second Monday of each month at 9:30 a.m. According to Six Lapham, the organizer and a resident of Hamlet House, “The purpose is to share, support and encourage our written expression, mostly of family doings and stuff to confound the grandkids.” Any island senior is welcome.

Want to be the Mystery Chef of the month at the Hamlet House? May is open. Starting last September those who have been mystery chefs include: Holly B, Ann Norman and Susan Breslow, Carol Hendel, Rip Van Camp and many more. Dinners can include a guest or two and are limited to eight people. Call Christy at the Hamlet House 468-3800 for details.

Paula Walker started this month to read stories for the Senior Hamlet residents at the Hamlet House. She selects stories she thinks would be interesting to everyone.

The Senior Hamlet is planning a Spring Spruce Up on Saturday May 22 from 9 a.m. to noon. Every spring a large number of Lopez volunteers come to the Hamlet to help with cleanup activities. If you are interested in joining a team please call Gale McCallum at 468-2726.
